Murgh Malai Tikka

Murgh Malai Tikka, a delicious and creamy chicken dish marinated in a blend of spices and yoghurt, is a beloved Indian delicacy. Its soft texture and rich flavours make it a favourite among foodies all over the world.

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup hung curd (Greek yogurt)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons cashew paste
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter for basting
  • Skewers

Step 1: Marinating Method

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the hung curd or yogurt, fresh cream, cashew paste, ginger-garlic paste, and all of the dry spices.
  • Whisk in the lemon juice and salt until the mixture forms a smooth marinade.
  • Add the chicken chunks to the marinade, making sure they are fully coated.
  • Allow the flavours to infuse for at least 2 hours or more in the refrigerator.

Step 2: Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat a grill pan on medium-high heat.
  • Skewer the marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
  • Place the skewers in the preheated oven or on the grill pan.
  • Cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with oil or melted butter until the chicken is cooked through and gets a golden-brown colour.

Plating and Garnish

  • Place the will cooked Tikka on to a serving plate with a side of lemon and freshly sliced onions and sprinkle some chaat masala on top of the Tikka.
  • Eat while hot and satisfy your soul.
